Day 02 – Learning Capital Letters with Joy and Precision at Ivaskillshare’s Handwriting Workshop
We’re back with our Day 02 update from the free 10-day handwriting workshop conducted by Ivaskillshare at the Government School near Markaji High School, Warangal — and today was all about capital letters, confidence, and clarity!
😊 Energy, Smiles & Curiosity in the Classroom
The students of Class 6, Batch 01 entered the class with bright faces and eager minds. After the excitement of Day 01 — where they learned about the importance of handwriting and mastered basic strokes — they were now ready to take the next big step: learning capital letters.
From the very first moment, the atmosphere was full of energy. The students couldn’t wait to write, and we were equally excited to guide them.
✨ Teaching Capital Letters – The Ivaskillshare Way
At Ivaskillshare, we don’t just teach letters — we teach the techniques, rules, and structure that help build beautiful handwriting for life.
Before we began writing, we explained why capital letters need special care — not just for beauty, but for readability and confidence.
📏 The Handwriting Rules We Taught Today:
We use two-line ruled books while teaching, and we follow some core rules to make handwriting neat and structured:
✒️ Capital Letter Writing Rules:
Capital letters should NEVER touch the top line.
They must be written with 3/4th height of the space — meaning they fill most of the space but stay balanced.
They must sit on the baseline (bottom line) firmly.
They should not cross the upper line — this keeps them uniform.
All letters should look clear, well-shaped, and not scrubbed.
We demonstrated each rule on the board and explained why these small rules matter — because good handwriting is not just about beauty, but about discipline and practice.
✍️ Practice Time – Mistakes Corrected with Care
Once the rules were explained, we gave the students enough time to practice all capital letters (A to Z).
And here’s where the real learning happened.
Some students made letters too tall — we guided them gently.
Some missed the baseline — we helped them fix it.
Some wrote unevenly — we showed them how to hold their pen and keep rhythm.
Every child received individual attention, and we corrected each mistake with patience. By the end of the session, we could already see a clear improvement in their writing style
We didn’t just teach letters — we gave the kids a clear set of rules and confidence. For many of them, it was the first time anyone had taught them the logic behind handwriting.
They were surprised to see how these tiny rules made such a big difference!
“Now I know why my letters were not neat before!”
– said one of the curious students, holding their worksheet proudly.
Moments like these remind us why Ivaskillshare is different — because we care about the details that others often skip.
🔜 What’s Coming Next?
On Day 03, we’ll be starting small letters — and this time, we’ll be covering:
The 1/2 height rule
Which small letters go above or below the baseline
And how to maintain even spacing between words
Stay with us as we continue this joyful journey of learning and transformation.
