Day 03 – Capital Letter Review & Small Letter Kickoff at Ivaskillshare’s Handwriting Workshop!
Welcome back to our Day 03 update from the 10-Day Free Handwriting Workshop by Ivaskillshare, held at the Government School near Markaji High School, Warangal. Today was a joyful mix of confidence, correction, and new beginnings.
The students of Class 6 showed up more excited than ever — ready to review their capital letters and step into the world of small letters.
✅ Confidence Check – Capital Letter Worksheet
We began the day by giving every student a worksheet to practice all Capital Letters (A to Z). The worksheet included:
Writing lines with two-rule format
Recap of the handwriting rules we taught on Day 02
A dedicated space to practice each letter
💡 We were proud to see that almost every student completed the worksheet beautifully. Some had perfect strokes, balance, and spacing — it was clear that they were applying what they learned.
But a few students struggled a bit. And that’s okay — because at Ivaskillshare, we believe every child deserves time, patience, and encouragement.
Our instructors went student-to-student, explaining the rules again with love and clarity.
And the best part? 🌟 Their interest increased, and they began improving right there in the classroom.
“Now I understand why G was going too tall — thank you, sir!”
– one student shared with a big smile.
🔤 Moving to Small Letters – A New Chapter Begins
Once we were confident that the students had a good grip on capital letters, we introduced small letters — which can be a bit trickier but just as fun.
We explained the importance of proportions when writing small letters and how they are different from capital letters.
✍️ Tips We Gave for Writing Small Letters:
Here are the tips we shared with the class, which you as a parent or teacher can use too:
Use Half Space:
Most small letters should take half the line space (1/2 height). Not too big, not too tiny.Touch the Baseline:
All small letters should rest on the bottom line for neatness and balance.Avoid Crossing the Top Line:
Except for letters like f, t, l, h, k, most small letters should not cross the upper line.Maintain Uniform Size:
Writing a, c, e, o, u at the same height keeps the writing neat.Loop Letters with Care:
Letters like g, y, p, q that go below the line should be balanced and rounded.Spacing Matters:
Even spacing between letters and words is just as important as neatness.
🧠 Aa to Zz Set Practice – Letter Pairs in Action
To finish the class, we gave them a beautiful new exercise — the Aa to Zz set, where each capital and small letter is written side-by-side:
Aa, Bb, Cc... all the way to Zz.
This set helps in:
Understanding the relationship between capital and small letters
Practicing transitions between upper and lower case
Strengthening letter recognition and balance
Every child got their own sheet and began practicing with focus and excitement.
It’s only Day 03, but the progress these students are showing is incredible. Their confidence is rising, their handwriting is improving, and above all — they’re enjoying the process.
And that’s what Ivaskillshare is all about — personal attention, skill-building, and making learning joyful.
🎯 What’s Next?
On Day 04, we’ll dive deeper into small letter families — exploring which letters have similar strokes, and helping students gain speed with neatness. We'll also introduce letter joining basics.
Stay tuned for more inspiring moments from our workshop!
