πΈ Day 01 – Vinayaka Chavithi Series
Story of Lord Ganesha: The Symbol of Wisdom
Vinayaka Chavithi is not just a festival of devotion, but also a reminder of the divine qualities of Lord Ganesha that we can bring into our own lives. Across these 9 days, we will explore 9 unique qualities of Ganesha through inspiring stories.
✨ Day 01 Quality – Wisdom (Buddhi)
One of the most famous stories that highlights Lord Ganesha’s wisdom is the race around the world.
π The Story
Once, Sage Narada gave a special fruit of knowledge to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, saying it should be given to only one child. Both Ganesha and Kartikeya wanted it. To resolve this, Shiva asked them to take part in a race: whoever circled the world three times first would win.
Kartikeya immediately set off on his peacock to fly around the earth. Ganesha, however, quietly thought for a moment. Instead of running, he folded his hands, walked around his parents – Lord Shiva and Parvati – three times, and said:
“For me, my parents are my world.”
His wisdom and devotion touched everyone, and he was awarded the fruit.
π Lesson
This story reminds us that wisdom is not just about knowledge, but about understanding the deeper meaning of life. Ganesha shows us that true intelligence lies in love, respect, and devotion.
Daily Reflection / Activity
Today, think of one situation where instead of reacting quickly, you can pause, reflect, and choose a wise action.
π Example for kids: Before solving a math problem in a hurry, stop and check if your method is correct.
π Example for parents: Before making a decision at work or home, pause and think of the deeper impact.
Wisdom is about thoughtful action, not fast action.
✅ On this Day 01, let us try to bring this quality of wisdom into our daily lives. Whether in studies, work, or relationships, thinking deeply before acting is what makes us truly wise.
Stay tuned for Day 02, where we will explore another beautiful quality of Lord Ganesha with a new story.
